Food Noir was awarded by the SCA (Swedish Culinary Academy) in the essay and literature category for Best Swedish Literature on Gastronomy in 2004, with the motivation "an elegant and well-written collection of articles from all around the world, in which the culinary culture is reflected against the underlying social drama."
